New Planned Parenthood Commercial Pushes Limits
by Jessica Stollings

Your tax dollars are paying for a new, raunchy commercial produced by Planned Parenthood and aimed at teens.

The commercial depicts a young couple practicing safe sex by using the right “tools.” Its part of Planned Parenthood’s new campaign that they claim promotes safe sex. But Jim Sedlak, with American Life League, disagrees.

“What the real intent is, is to get young people involved in the sexual lifestyle, to let young people to see that sex is normal.”

Or maybe to create new customers for their products. What’s even more disturbing? Taxpayer money is funding it. Sedlak is calling on government officials to stop the trend.

“Planned Parenthood gets over 265 million dollars a year in taxpayer funds, which is about one-third of their income. We need to synthesize our elected officials that we don’t want our tax payer money going to Planned Parenthood and this is a time to do it, in election year.”

Dr. LaVerne Tolbert is a researcher in abstinence education. She says this commercial gives teens a false sense of security that sexual activity is accepted and expected.

“If we would be more pro-active in teaching abstinence, I believe that, no matter what the message is from Planned Parenthood, our kids would be equipped to make the right decision.”

A petition is underway to demand that legislators cut the $265 million annual government funding allotted to Planned Parenthood at the federal, state and local levels.
